The Last Viking Returns

Thor Lives!

Hmmmm, do the Viking gods still exist? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of evidence until, occasionally, you come across a newspaper clipping like this one below that I just found.

Lakeland Christian School Viking Athletics The Preseason Classic varsity football game

was cancelled after the first quarter due to lightning this past Friday night.

This game will not be rescheduled. Your next opportunity to see the Vikings

at home will be on Friday, September 10, when they host Clearwater Central Catholic at 7 PM.

As you no doubt you remember, Thor is the god of  thunder and lightning, and having read this, I for one am not about to go and declare him mythical. Thor rocks, ok! And to be on the safe side, nor am I about to denounce any of his other mates who may live up there beyond the clouds in Asgard. Also,  if we ever have any storms again here in Perth, I will not be going anywhere outside so as to tempt Thor with a lighting bolt.

Here he is on the left in a very early sketch by James.

  1. Perhaps you should make a little sacrifice to Baldur? May Kvasir continue to watch over you ………

  2. Vikings versus the Catholics – now that’s gotta be something to see!
